Incumbent Worker Training (IWT)

Provides funding assistance to companies to provide training designed to improve the skills of current employees and the competitiveness of an employer. IWT can be used to help avert potential layoffs or to increase the skill level of employees so they can be promoted or to create backfill opportunities.


Short-Time Compensation (STC)

A program provided by the State Department of Economic Development to help employers keep their current workforce by encouraging work sharing as an alternative to a layoff.


On-the-Job Training (OJT)

Provides an opportunity for an employer to hire WIOA eligible participants as new employees acquiring the occupational skills and knowledge in a training environment. Paid Work Experience (PWE)

The ability to mentor young talent between the ages of 18-24 as they enter the workforce with the possibility to provide permanent employment. The benefit for the employer is 100% of the employee wages are paid by CareerSource Pasco Hernando during the training period.


Layoff Assistance (WARN Notice)

Rapid response services are provided with immediate action to both employers and impacted workers by quickly coordinating services. Employers submit layoff and business closing notices under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act , an announcement or notification of a permanent closure, a mass layoff, a mass job dislocation resulting from a natural or other disaster, or Trade impacted layoffs.


The proactive goal is that the impacted workers are provided transition services as quickly as possible. Services available are as follows:

  • Resume Development and Interview Preparation
  • Career Training & Development Assistance
  • Arranging Job Fairs and other Special Employment Events
  • Information on the impacts of layoff on health care and retirement coverage
  • Reemployment Assistance information
  • Referrals to community agencies for supportive services
  • Veteran Priority of Service
