Employee Will Be Trained In The Following:
1Learn to establish the specifications of articles to be constructed or repaired or plan the methods or operations for shaping or assembling parts, based on blueprints, drawings, diagrams, or oral or written instructions. Learn to verify dimensions or check the quality or fit of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications.  Learn to remove and replace damaged tile.
2Learn to attach parts or subassemblies together to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, or clamps.  Learn to reinforce joints with nails or other fasteners to prepare articles for finishing and install hardware, such as hinges, handles, catches, or drawer pulls, using hand tools. Learn to repair or alter wooden furniture, cabinetry, fixtures, paneling, or other pieces.
3Learn to apply acoustical tiles, blocks, strips or shock-absorbing materials to ceilings and walls of buildings to reduce or reflect sound and to decorate rooms; Cut tile backing to required size and install and anchor fixtures in designated positions, using tools.
4Learn to cut and shape tile to fit around obstacles and into odd spaces and corners, using hand and power cutting tools, and align and straighten tile using levels, squares, and straightedges.  Learn to determine and implement the best layout to achieve a desired pattern. Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled, following blueprints.
5Learn to trim, sand, or scrape surfaces or joints to prepare articles for finishing, and match materials for color, grain, or texture, giving attention to knots or other features of the wood.  Learn to prepare surfaces for insulation.
6Learn to set up or operate machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, or shapers, to cut, mold, or shape woodstock or wood substitutes.  Learn to perform final touch-ups with sandpaper or steel wool.
7Learn to select and order acoustical tile and other items to be installed, such as cabinets, according to specifications. 
8Learn to prepare cost and labor estimates, based on calculations of time and materials needed for project, and study blueprints and examine surface to be covered to determine amount of material needed.
